Trebbiano Romagnolo

  • Trebbiano della Fiamma
  • Trebbiano di Romagna

White

  • Trebbiano Romagnolo traces its roots back to antiquity, with historical documentation dating its presence in Romagna as far back as 1303, recorded by Pier de’ Crescenzi. Renowned for its resilience, this ancient variety exhibits high resistance to peronospora and botrytis, though it is somewhat more susceptible to oidium.

  • However, a prevalent challenge in identifying Trebbiano Romagnolo lies in its often mistaken identity with Trebbiano Toscano. Despite efforts, many vines presumed to be Trebbiano Romagnolo are, in fact, Trebbiano Toscano, adding a layer of complexity to the preservation of this historic grape variety.

Trebbiano Romagnolo typically presents delicate aromas that lean towards the floral and herbal spectrum, with nuances of white flowers, herbs, and sometimes a hint of citrus zest. This variety often boasts a lively acidity that adds freshness and brightness to the wine, making it a delightful choice for easy sipping.
