Red
- Throughout Italy, it’s affectionately known as Prëmetta. Primetta, as it’s officially recognized, emerges from a natural union between Prié Blanc and another mysterious parent.
- While relatively scarce in modern times, historical records from 1877 reveal its significant presence, comprising 40% of the grape cultivation in Charvensod and Saint-Nicolas, and 30% in Jovençan.
Prié Rouge can stand alone as a monovarietal, although it often includes around 10% of other indigenous grapes. Its appearance is striking, presenting a dark pink hue adorned with garnet-amber highlights. Aromatically potent, it exudes a captivating bouquet of roses, red currants, and herb-kissed strawberries, all underpinned by gentle tannins. This enigmatic red possesses the visual allure of a rosé while delivering a taste profile akin to its delicate counterpart.
