White

  • Erbaluce is renowned for being the flagship grape of the DOC Erbaluce di Caluso, marking Piedmont‘s first white DOC designation.

  • It is often trained using the topia system, which forms a dense canopy of leaves to shield the grapes from hail damage.

  • At full ripeness, Erbaluce grapes take on an enticing amber-pink hue.

  • While Erbaluce wines can be crafted in both still and sparkling styles, all variants are notably dry, with the exception of the esteemed DOCG Caluso Passito.

Air-dried sweet wines exhibit a captivating array of flavors, characterized by their resinous, tannic profile and a medley of bittersweet chestnut honey, almond, dried fig, and saffron notes. These flavors linger on the palate, culminating in a lingering, sweet aftertaste reminiscent of tropical fruits.

On the other hand, Erbaluce dry wines are celebrated for their delicacy and freshness, boasting vibrant floral notes and an abundance of green apple and lemony aromas and flavors.

When expertly crafted, these wines showcase impeccable balance, marrying minerally, crisp undertones with the allure of white flowers and fruits, complemented by subtle hints of chlorophyll and apricots.
