Durella derives its name from its notably tough skin, as “durella” translates to “hard” or “angry” in Italian.
It is an ancient grape variety native to the Monti Lessini region and is also known as Uva Durasena.
Occasionally mistaken for Nosiola, which is renowned for producing fragrant white wines.
Durella is also recognized as the parent grape of the Veneto native varietal Bianchetta Trevigiana.
This versatile grape can be utilized in the production of sparkling, still, and sweet wines, showcasing its adaptability and potential for diverse winemaking styles.
