  • Calabria is home to several indigenous grape varieties, including Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Greco Bianco, and Mantonico. These unique grapes thrive in the region’s diverse terroirs, producing wines with distinctive flavors and characteristics.

Much of Calabria’s vineyard land is situated on steep hillsides and terraced slopes, where vines are planted at varying altitudes to capture the nuances of the terroir. The mountainous terrain provides excellent drainage and sun exposure, contributing to the quality of the grapes.

Calabria enjoys a Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters, ideal for grape cultivation. The coastal breezes help moderate temperatures, while higher elevations provide cooler conditions, allowing for the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties.
