Bianchetta is among the numerous Italian grape varieties named for their skin color, leading to the existence of several unrelated “Bianchetta” varieties across Italy, united only by their pale hue.
It is the result of a natural crossing between Brambana, a red-berried grape, and Durella.
Primarily utilized in blends, Bianchetta is commonly encountered in the Prosecco production region, particularly around Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
In Prosecco production, it is frequently blended with Glera to enhance acidity and provide structural support to the wine. However, excessive reliance on reductive winemaking techniques can pose a challenge in its production.

This wine introduces itself with a charming lightness and refreshing character, inviting the drinker to savor its vibrant personality. However, it’s worth noting that on occasion, it may fall short in delivering the complexity and depth that discerning palates seek. While it excels in offering immediate gratification with its crisp and invigorating qualities, some enthusiasts may find themselves yearning for a more intricate and multi-layered tasting experience.
