Lambrusco Marani

Red

  • Lambrusco Marani is a rare Lambrusco grown in the hillside vineyards, though it is most often found on flatlands.
  • Little documentation exists of this variety’s presence as recently as the twentieth century.
  • The surface under vine has decreased because modern producers prefer to plant Lambrusco Maestri, which gives much fruitier and richer wines.

The wines display fruity and tannic characteristics, with their relatively high total acidity imparting a floral nuance reminiscent of violet, iris, and peony. Compared to those crafted from Lambrusco Maestri, they exhibit a touch less sweetness and fruity flesh, showcasing flavors of black currant and red cherry.
