  • The sole cultivar indigenous to Cinque Terre, Bosco is integral to crafting the air-dried sweet Sciacchetrà.

  • In addition to its role in Sciacchetrà, Bosco lends body and structure to the traditional Ligurian wines, often part of blends alongside Albarola and Vermentino.

  • Following a decline, Bosco and other local varieties experienced a revival, spearheaded by local priests who replanted vineyards with materials sourced from Vatican nurseries.

The wine is distinguished by its mineral essence and pronounced acidity, coupled with a robust structure and subtle herbal undertones, alongside ripe yellow fruit notes.

Wines from higher altitudes tend to exhibit lower intensity, while those closer to the sea boast higher sugar content, lower acidity, and fuller body.

In the production of the sweet air-dried grapes used in Sciacchetrà, expect rich aromas and flavors reminiscent of thick honey, apricot jam, dried fig, and herbal nuances, complemented by hints of hazelnut and toffee.
