  • Still White Wine: minimum 40% Vermentino and/or Trebbiano Toscano + maximum 60% other white grape varieties allowed for cultivation in the region. Minimum 85% Vermentino + maximum 15% other white grape varieties allowed for cultivation in the region. 
  • Still Red Wine: minimum 60% Sangiovese + maximum 40% other red grape varieties allowed for cultivation in the region (except Malvasia Nera and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and Aleatico). Minimum ageing – 24 months of which 12 months in oak and 6 months in the bottle. 
  • Still Rosato Wine: minimum 60% Ciliegiolo and/or Sangiovese + maximum 40% other red grape varieties allowed for cultivation in the region (except Malvasia Nera and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and Aleatico).
  • Vin Santo: minimum 70% Malvasia Bianca and/or Grechetto Bianco and/or Trebbiano Toscano + maximum 30% other white grape varieties allowed for cultivation in the region. 
  • Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice: minimum 70% Sangiovese + maximum 30% other red grape varieties allowed for cultivation in the region.

  • The Montecucco DOC is situated in southern Tuscany, between the more famous wine regions of Montalcino and Scansano. It encompasses the communes of Cinigiano, Campagnatico, Castel del Piano, Civitella Paganico, Arcidosso, Seggiano, and Roccalbegna.
