  • Bolgheri is famously associated with the “Super Tuscan” movement. In the 1970s, innovative winemakers started blending traditional Italian grape varieties with international ones like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, creating high-quality wines that didn’t conform to traditional DOC regulations at the time.
  • The climate in Bolgheri is influenced by the nearby sea, which helps to regulate temperatures and provide cooling breezes. The soil is varied, consisting of clay, sand, and limestone, contributing to the complexity and minerality of the wines.
