  • The majority of Prosecco from this region is made using the Charmat method (or tank method), where secondary fermentation takes place in large stainless steel tanks.
  • Within the DOCG classification, there are special designations for particularly high-quality areas:

    Rive – indicates wines made from grapes grown in specific, steeply sloped vineyards. Each Rive wine must be hand-harvested and can indicate the name of the specific village or hamlet on the label.

    Superiore di Cartizze – this is the pinnacle of Prosecco quality, produced from a small area of about 107 hectares in Valdobbiadene. Cartizze wines are known for their complexity, elegance, and exceptional quality.
